Tony Mase here...
As you may know, awhile back, I sent an email to my customers and Constructive Science Newsletter subscribers asking them for the most "burning question" they had, related to the writings of Wallace D. Wattles and/or the subjects he wrote about, that they'd like to see me answer in an upcoming Constructive Science Newsletter article.
One reader asked me a few good questions that, for one reason or another, don't quite "lend" themselves to an article, but, as I know they're important to the person who asked them and I'm sure other readers have the same or similar questions as well, I want to take the time to answer them.
Here they are:
"Hi Tony,"
"Just a few quick (lol) questions about self-confidence. My confidence is a little low. I do work for other people, join in to get their approval. I think you got the idea. My apartment is messy, because, I believe, I have learned that I cannot keep it clean. Bought that idea hook line and sinker. Some people have tried to get 'close' to me, but it seems like I don't have any opinions of my own."
"After reading some of the constructive life info, I am beginning to realize that I need to mentally pay attention to my own constructive thoughts and keep them in my mind. Like anything new, it is a difficult task to do."
"So does it sound like I am travelling along the right path?"
"With so many years of destructive thinking, learning something new is difficult. I am beginning to realize that I will succeed but it will take awhile, a lifetime maybe? No real method to increase the speed, just keep working on constructive self-talk. I just need to keep reading and digesting the writings."
"Do you have a 'group' that may help me along the road?"
Then...
In a follow-up comment to a later blog post (Another Reader's Question Answered), this reader wrote:
"In 'Matter of Attitude, I think I found my answer of how I can get over my block of changing myself. In a comment before I asked how to change so it will be a better life for me. I discovered that it will be having the correct attitude and thinking constructively. Not an easy task as we all know. So I am slowly making the change suggested in some of the articles I downloaded."
First...
Let's go back to what Wallace D. Wattles wrote in the preface to the articles in his Lessons in Constructive Science series:
"There is a constructive, or integrating principle in nature, and a destructive, or disintegrating principle - power applied through the constructive principle builds, forms and integrates; it draws atoms and forms together - power applied through the destructive principle dissolves and disintegrates; it disperses atoms and forms, and throws them apart - to learn how to make every thought and action constructive, is to master the secret of all attainment."
The most important phrase in this sentence, only Wallace D. Wattles could have written (and one that had a *MAJOR* impact on my life), is:
"... to learn how to make every thought and action constructive, is to master the secret of all attainment."
Now...
What I want you to note here is...
Wallace D. Wattles did *NOT* write:
... to learn how to make every thought constructive, is to master the secret of all attainment.
He wrote:
"... to learn how to make every thought and action constructive, is to master the secret of all attainment."
The key word here being...
AND...
... to learn how to make every thought *AND* action constructive, is to master the secret of all attainment.
Constructive thought is vitally important in getting what you want...
For as Wallace D. Wattles said so well in The Science of Getting Rich:
"A man's way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things."
But so is constructive *ACTION*...
For as Wallace D. Wattles also said so well in The Personal Power Course:
"In order to get what you want, you must act..."
And...
Quite frankly...
It's right here where most folks drop the ball...
They fail to *ACT*!
In The Science of Getting Rich, Wallace D. Wattles called this:
"... the rock upon which many otherwise scientific metaphysical thinkers meet shipwreck..."
No doubt about it! :-)
That being said...
One of the biggest difficulties people face when embarking on this course of thought and action is accurately classifying their thoughts and actions as either constructive or destructive...
And...
As Wallace D. Wattles wrote in a portion of a very rare article I share with members of my Tony Mase's Inner Circle Members-Only Website:
"Men fail because they do not learn to make this classification, and their destructive acts neutralize and offset their constructive ones."
Now...
That being the case...
How to you learn to make this classification between constructive and destructive thoughts and actions, so your destructive thoughts and actions don't neutralize and offset your constructive ones?
The best way, returning to my "model" from a previous blog post (Another Reader's Question Answered) is by being real clear about *exactly* what it is you want to "build"...
Because...
As Wallace D. Wattles put it in The Personal Power Course:
"Actions which would be constructive upon a building of one type would be destructive upon a building of another type. If you are going to build a brick house, you will not buy lumber for a frame house; you will buy brick. And the more clearly you have in mind the house you wish to build even to its least important details, the more completely you can provide the necessary materials, and the more definite and constructive you can make every action."
How true! :-)
So...
To answer your questions...
"... does it sound like I am travelling along the right path?"
As far as I can tell...
Yes...
BUT...
I'd suggest you make absolutely sure you have a crystal clear "vision" of *exactly* what you want in place (*THE* most important element of constructive thought) and you're constructively *ACTING* on that "vision" (constructive thought alone *isn't* enough to get what you want).
"I am beginning to realize that I will succeed but it will take awhile, a lifetime maybe? No real method to increase the speed..."
Here's the deal...
In The Personal Power Course, Wallace D. Wattles wrote:
"The certainty and rapidity of the process will depend upon how great a proportion of your actions are constructive."
It's that simple! :-)
Along the same line...
A little side note in reference to:
"I just need to keep reading and digesting the writings."
Reading and "digesting" Wallace D. Wattles' writings are certainly important...
However...
*FAR* more important is *APPLYING* them!
Just thought I'd throw that in here. :-)
"Do you have a 'group' that may help me along the road?"
Sure do...
IF...
The key word here being *IF*...
You're serious about turning your life around and getting what you want out of it...
And...
You're willing to make a long-term commitment to yourself.

"Are you still accepting students into the Tony Mase's Inner Circle Members-Only Website?"
The answer is...
Yes...
At least right now I am. :-)

One final thought on "self-confidence" in general...
If you truly *BELIEVE* (*BELIEVE* being the key word here) the three fundamental statements Wallace D. Wattles laid out in Chapter 4 of The Science of Getting Rich, "self-confidence" won't be an issue.
With that...
I hope this helps. :-)
I'll answer more of your questions in upcoming blog posts or Constructive Science Newsletter articles...
Stay tuned! :-)
To your success,
Tony
