A Gift for You

Tony Mase here with a very special holiday gift for you...

Not long ago, I came across an excellent article, first published some forty-three years ago, I'd like to share with you as we rapidly approach this holiday season and the coming new year:

Therein lies my gift to you this holiday season...

The simple truth that:

No one owes you anything!

Interestingly enough...

Some fifty-six years prior...

Wallace D. Wattles said something very similar in the fourteenth of fifteen articles of his Lessons in Constructive Science series, titled What the World Owes Us, when he wrote:

"It is not true that the world owes every man a living. The world does not owe anybody a living. We do not come into the world to collect something that is due us from the people who are already here. We come into the world to live. This matter of our just claims upon the people around about us is one that we should consider very carefully in order that we may know how much to ask or expect and how much to give. We need to understand that the mere fact that we have made our advent upon this stage of action does not confer upon other people an obligation to love us or even to think well of us, without regard to what we do, or what we are."

With that...

I've been blessed by your wisdom and insight into the writings of Wallace D. Wattles. Thanks for your "candor". The world needs the truth served through love. If by chance someone is offended then it's most likely something they needed to hear. Someone, whom we both know, once said "be careful how you hear". I say, "keep doing whatcha doing". :)
