And I know I say this from time to time, but it bears repeating...

Although often claimed to the contrary, Wallace D. Wattles never, to the best of my knowledge (my disclaimer! :-)), wrote about a so-called "law of attraction" and, as a matter of fact, much of what I've seen written on the subject conflicts with what he did write.

That said...

Based on what Wallace D. Wattles did write...

The short answer to your question is:

You can attract your life partner by being attractive to the person you want to attract!

A couple of thoughts on the subject...

First...

If your vision reflects what you *really* want (notice my emphasis on the word *really* here) and it's believable to *you* (it doesn't need to be believable to me or anyone else, but it does need to be believable to *you*), you shouldn't have any trouble staying focused on it regardless of appearances to the contrary.

So, if you're having trouble staying focused on your vision when everything around you seems to be conspiring to keep you from it, that's the first thing I'd take a look at.

That said...

On a bit more philosophical level...

When I look back at my life, I can now see that every rotten, lousy thing that ever happened to me (or so they appeared to me at the time anyway), happened to prepare me for what I do today, the work I was put here to do.

In other words...

All those things were but necessary stepping stones along the path to my ultimate purpose, which I'd have never found had I, as you put it, "just let it die".

A Readers' Question About Subconscious Programming

"I was wondering if you have any thoughts about subconscious programming. Even though Wallace D Wattles recognizes the power of our thoughts in shaping our reality, I often hear/read from other authors that the way we are programmed since we were kids by our parents/media/etc. usually overrides any positive thoughts/attitudes or intentions/visualizations."

A couple of things here...

First...

This is a perfect example of what happens when you mix systems, something Wallace D. Wattles warned about in The Science of Getting Rich when he wrote:

"Others still are poor because, while they have some notion of science, they have become so swamped and lost in the maze of metaphysical and occult theories that they do not know which road to take. They try a mixture of many systems and fail in all."

How true!

My life began to change, and change rather dramatically I might add, when I began following *ONE* system to the exclusion of all others.

Now...

Obviously...

I chose Wallace D. Wattles' "system" and therefore I believe (and have proved) it's possible to change your life by changing your thoughts *and* actions (please note my emphasis on the word *and* here, both are required).

Second...

There can be any one or combination of a number of reasons why your financial situation has gone from bad to worse, as you put it.

However...

I can tell you this...

Changing your attitude about money and rich people will have little, if any, effect on your financial situation; whereas, changing your attitude about *YOU* will have a major effect!

When having an issue with someone, I've found it best to confront them directly with it, rather than dance around them talking to everyone but the one person who can help you with it.

In other words...

Deal with it head-on!

A Readers' Question About Implementing The Science of Getting Rich

Three things:

First...

If you strongly believe in Wallace D. Wattles' writings, as you say you do, I suggest you do what Wallace D. Wattles tells you to do in his preface to The Science of Getting Rich:

"... read this book and do exactly as it tells you to do."

The second part:

"... do exactly as it tells you to do."

Being absolutely vital! I'm always amazed at how few people who claim to strongly believe in Wallace D. Wattles' writings in general and The Science of Getting Rich in particular, ever *DO EXACTLY* as Wallace D. Wattles tells them to do. However, those who do are the ones who get results.

Second...

It's not in the least bit necessary for you to know what makes your "heart sing" in order to implement the system laid out in The Science of Getting Rich.

What's necessary is that you *DO* all you can, with what you have, where you are, right now, including making the most of your current job, regardless of whether you love it or not, and have faith that everything you need will come to you as the time is right for you to have it.

Here's the deal...

Only when you make the most of what you already have will the Universe see fit to give you more!

Third...

A Readers' Question About the Promises in The Science of Getting Rich

"There is a statement contained in Chapter 9 of The Science Of Getting Rich, which reads (in the version I own):"

"'All the promises are unto them that believe, and unto them only.'"

"I have often wondered to what Wallace D. Wattles might have been referring by these 'promises'. A browse of the Constructive Science blog postings yielded no answer at this time (perhaps because this may be the first time such a question has ever been asked)."

"So, putting it simply, do you have any idea to what Wallace D. Wattles might have been referring to, when he speaks of 'promises'."

Good question...

Though I've probably read that sentence a couple of hundred times or more, I never really gave it much thought.

Because of the wording of the sentence and the one that follows it:

"Notice how insistent Jesus was upon this point of belief; and now you know the reason why."

I always assumed Wallace D. Wattles was referring (maybe loosely so, as he sometimes did) to something Jesus said.

However...

In researching it, darned if I could find a Bible verse that even comes close to the wording of the sentence in question, in the King James Version anyway.

Posing the question to members of my Tony Mase's Inner Circle "Fast-Track Coaching" program, one member (thanks B.!) suggested that by "promises" Wallace D. Wattles was referring to "getting what you want" and, though I don't know this for sure, he may well be right.

Webster's 1828 Dictionary (one Wallace D. Wattles might have used) defines "promise" in part as:

"Hopes; expectation, or that which affords expectation of future distinction; as a youth of great promise."

So...

Based on that definition...

That sentence could be read as:

All the hopes and expectations are unto them that believe, and unto them only.

Which, as it's similar to language Wallace D. Wattles used elsewhere, makes perfect sense.

I think so. :-)

Let my answer your central question with a very simple example...

Let's say you own a business and have someone working for you who consistently generates you $100.00 an hour in business. That $100.00 an hour would be their cash value to you.

Now, although their cash value to you is $100.00 an hour, can you afford to pay them $100.00 an hour?

Absolutely not!

After you deduct the cost of the product or service, your overhead, other business expenses, and a reasonable profit for yourself from that $100.00 an hour, you might only be able to pay them $10.00 an hour; thus, in order to stay in business and continue to employ them...

"... you must take from them more in cash value than you pay them in wages..."

But...

As Wallace D. Wattles continued in The Science of Getting Rich:

"... you can so organize your business that it will be filled with the principle of advancement, and so that each employee who wishes to do so may advance a little every day."
